The Sarah Hammer Development Program

The Sarah Hammer Track Development Program will support the future of American women's track racing by providing equipment, travel grants and seminars to developmental female track cyclists. Our target demographic will be young women who would otherwise not get a chance to take part in the sport of track cycling.

Our proclamation is that cycling, and track cycling in particular, can teach valuable lessons that are applicable far beyond the cycling arena. Work ethic, discipline, leadership and sportsmanship are just a few of the qualities that we seek to inspire in the women we will support with this program.

The Sarah Hammer Track Development Program seeks to create female champions both on and off the bicycle.

The goal of the AWTCF is to not only expose women to a proven model of success but also to equip and enable these future champions.

Objectives for the 2006/2007 racing season are as follows:

  • Provide ten track bikes to developmental women.
  • Award up to $2,000.00 in various track-specific travel grants.
  • Provide four seminars to aspiring women track cyclists (three in L.A., one in Colorado Springs, CO).

Our goal will remain simple: equip, enable, nurture and motivate as many developmental American women track cyclists as we can. Your support can dramatically help us realize this mission.
